Decanter centrifuge working principle:

Zonelink is a centrifuge manufacturer, our decanter centrifuge consists of two rotors, one is called a rotating drum, and the other rotor is a screw discharger. When decanter centrifuge the drum rotates at a high speed, the slurry in the drum rotates with the drum and is subjected to decanter centrifugal force, which is many times larger than the gravity, so that the solid particles will be separated from the liquid, from the decanter centrifuge drum axis, settling to the inner wall of the drum, and the spiral discharger located in the drum rotates at a speed lower than (or higher than) the drum and pushes the deposited solid particles to the slag outlet. Decanter centrifuge structure:

Machine stand (base) : The base provides a solid foundation for mounting the main parts of the machine. The machined surface of the base is used to support the main bearing seat, the decanter centrifuge bottom shell, the feed pipe support base, the motor parts and the base connection.

Cover shell: the cover shell is composed of an upper cover shell and a lower cover shell; A sealing gasket is provided on the mating surface of the upper and lower cover shells to prevent the body from leaking. Seal gaskets are nitrile or fluoro rubber (depending on the material). The cover is like a protective cover to completely close the rotating parts, of course, the cover also plays the role of discharging solid particles from the rotating parts and containing diversion. The cover shell is separated into solid slag holding chamber and liquid holding chamber, and the bottom of the cover shell is connected with the slag discharge and liquid discharge hopper through a flange.

Danger: solids, liquids or gases may leak out of the centrifuge, and effective measures should be taken to prevent the operator from inhaling or directly contacting with these toxic and harmful media.

Drum: is composed of a cone and a cylinder composed of cylindrical - conical cylindrical rotor, designed to this shape is to obtain better separation performance, when the drum rotates at high speed, drive the slurry to rotate together, under the action of centrifugal force, the heavier solid particles will be separated from the liquid. The cylindrical part of the drum is to facilitate the clarification of the filtrate (centrifugal separation), and the conical part is conducive to the dehydration of solid materials.

End cover: one is the solid material end drum cover, the other is the liquid flow end drum cover, the two drum covers and drum assembly together to form a closed rotating container, the two drum covers are equipped with a hollow journal for drum rotation. Both ends of the bearings supporting the screw discharger are pressed into the two drum covers respectively, and the bearings are separated from the material handled by a skeleton oil seal assembly in the two drum covers respectively. The clear liquid end rotating drum cover is equipped with 4 overflow weir plates with adjustable height, through which the depth of the overflow pool in the rotating drum is adjusted, and their adjustment range depends on the process parameters at the time.

Note: The four overflow weirs must be adjusted at the same height, otherwise the operation will be unstable.

Screw discharger: Screw discharger plays the role of accelerating the feed slurry and pushing the material deposited on the inner wall of the rotary drum to the solid discharge end of the centrifuge. The two bearings supporting the screw discharger are respectively pressed into the two rotary drum covers. The bearings are separated from the processed materials by the skeleton oil seal assembly assembled in the two rotary drum covers. The screw discharger is composed of a screw core shaft, a screw blade and two plates to support the rotation of the screw discharger. The spiral mandrel has a feeding chamber and several material holes, the feeding end journal is hollow structure, the feed pipe passes through the hollow journal to the feeding chamber, the differential journal is splined structure, and is connected with the differential output spline.

The feed chamber receives the slurry being added to the centrifuge and drains it through the feed hole into the external drum. These four feeding holes are evenly distributed along the spiral mandrel circle so that the stock added to the outer drum is steadily distributed, and the feeding holes also speed up (increase) the speed of the stock entering the outer drum.

The screw part of the screw discharger is composed of spiral blades wrapped around the core shaft of the screw discharger, which are combined into a multi-stage spiral structure to achieve the purpose of discharging. The outer diameter of the blade of the screw disloader must be controlled so that the minimum distance (clearance) from the inner wall of the external drum is maintained within the range of 1.5mm to 3mm to ensure good discharge performance.

Feed pipe: The feed pipe is used to feed the feed stock into the feed chamber in the core shaft of the screw discharger.

The material of the feed pipe is stainless steel, its outer diameter is conical structure, and the inlet end of the feed pipe is connected with a flange so as to be connected with an elastic joint.

Bearings: Main bearings: The main bearings are rolling bearings and support the entire rotor assembly. These bearings are assembled into a housing component that is fastened to the centrifuge base after precise alignment of the neutralizing pins during installation.

The bearing housing component is made of cast iron, the feed end bearing is the radial ball bearing is the fixed, the rotary drum because it limits the axial movement, and the differential end bearing is the release roller bearing, which allows the axial movement due to the thermal expansion or cold contraction of the centrifuge.

Differential: the differential drives the screw discharger and makes it rotate at a constant speed relative to the external drum. The deceleration ratio of the differential and the speed of the external drum determine the speed difference between the external drum and the screw discharger. Apart from changing the lubricant, the maintenance and repair of the differential can only be done by personnel trained by the factory. The transmission ratio of the transmission is selected and the screw discharger is provided with a speed that can meet the required discharge volume and separation efficiency.

Differential speed = (external drum speed - differential input shaft speed)/differential speed ratio
