During the operation of the tablet press, it is inevitable to encounter the pressed tablet is not hard enough, which is a very distressing thing. Below we analyze the reasons and solutions for the non-hard pressing of the tablet press.
(1) Reason: the amount of adhesive or lubricant is small or inappropriate, so that the particle distribution is uneven, coarse and fine particle stratification, tablet pressing machine even increase the pressure can not overcome.
Solution: can choose appropriate adhesive or increase the amount, improve the pelleting process, mixed particles and other methods.
(2) Reason: the fineness of grinding is not enough, rich in fiber, elastic particles or oil composition content and uneven mixing.
Solutions: The particles can be crushed finer, choose a strong adhesive, increase the pressure of the tablet press, oil drug absorbent and fully mixed and other methods.
(3) Reasons: In the discomfort of water content, too little water or dry particles have great elasticity. Because drugs containing crystalline water lose more crystalline water in particle drying, they become brittle and easy to loosen and crack. But too much hardness becomes smaller.
Solution: Granulation process should be according to different varieties control water content. If the produced particles are too dry, a suitable amount of dilute ethanol (50%-60%) can be sprayed, mixed and then pressed by tablet press.
(4) Reason: the physical properties of the pressed particles themselves, determined by brittleness, plasticity, elasticity and hardness, such as elastic material compression becomes smaller, after decompression due to elasticity and expansion, so the tablet loose crack.
Solution: Different particles, tablet pressing machine with different pressure and other auxiliary materials control.
(5) Reason: the mechanical factor of the tablet press itself. Such as the length of the punch is not uniform, or the pressure adjustment is not appropriate, the speed of the press is too fast or when the particles are added to the hopper.
Solution: Adjust the press pressure, speed and feeding speed, replace the punch.
